Since I didn’t see the sticker on the iPod plastic holder, that was on my holder when I bought mine, I’d like to give the advice to you since you seem to have struggled a bit with removing the iPod from the holder.
You hold the plastic holder with your thumb and middle finger on the top and bottom ends, with the iPod facing outward. Then you squeeze both ends while pushing the back of the holder with your index finger towards the iPod. This causes the holder to bend, thus releasing the iPod very easily.
