Any chance we will be seeing a comprehensive review of this on GearLive? Not sure if a week would be long enough but it would be interesting to see if after a month of using something like this if it really makes a difference.
Obviously the USB cable is NOT for interfacing with the computer, but rather to power it.
That is, according to the plug and the fact that there is no mention of it on their web site (http://www.axbo.com).
Oups, it seems that the USB cable is indeed for data transmission and can’t power the clock…
But this info is only on the pdf manual.

Well to be honest, our plug is the best. I mean look at it three prongs that are thick and chunky so they don’t bend or snap off, and we have a ground pin =D
I live in New Orleans and the house I lived in last summer actually had a couple of those sockets in the master bedroom. But we think it may have been a re-purposed laundry room.
The huge UK plug is also still used in some other countries which used to be under British control including Singapore and parts of East Africa such as Uganda.
The diagonal plug is used in Australia and New Zealand.
Has anyone tried an axBO? I’m thinking of getting one and I’d like to know if they work well.
Also, will I feel tired later that morning?
1st year Med school student. I bought one. I’ve only had it for 2 weeks, but not overly impressed with it. The USB connection to the computer is actually a serial software serial connection, which makes linking up a pain in the butt and it doesn’t always work. The data is fun to look at, but not real obvious on the whole sleep cycles thing. I’ve been faithful to use it, but rarely sleep more than 6 hours at one time. One time I slept right through it, but I also set other alarm clocks. It is kind of fun to not know what time you’ll be awakened in the morning. My problem is that I still know in my heart that it is not yet truly time to wake up, and I’ll dose off again. Discipline may be the key. I have a lot of thoughts on this clock, but the jury is still out. I would say it should do a better job for the price. My biggest excitement with it is the biofeedback. The other clock features are nothing special. Powernap function is a 30 minute time.

1st plug was from he UK, second unknown plug is Australia and New Zealand. I can’t believe that Andru didn’t realise it was a plug with different connections when he opened it!!!

Actually they do mention a USB cable that connects to your computer and records your sleep information and displays it for you.

I don’t know if anyone would care to know this, but, not only is that a UK Plug, but you’ll also see that three prong plug type in many middle eastern countries. I serve in the Armed forces, and I’ve done the Bob Hope tour all over the desert several times in my career thus far, and to see an electrical socket that requires that style plug while I’m trying to charge some of my gear gives me the same feeling as finding no running water after I’ve already lathered up with soap. It just means my duel voltage stuff is gonna fry. And they seem so dangerous when you’re trying to plub ‘em in - not as dangerous to plug in as the initial plug it shipped with, but a small child would likely have to exert more effort to plug it in. Also, since many of those places run off of 50Hz, my equipment is never charged correctly and will die quickly. If someone came up with an idea so stupid as to run an extension cord from America to these places, I’d give ‘em the shirt off my back and stand in line to use it - what we need is a brand of portable converter/regulators that work and does not burn out my equipment and, also does not magically burst my living quarters into flames.

You asked in the SleepPhase Alarm Clock unboxing video which country uses the 3-pin square pin mains
plug adaptor included in the box?
The answer is it’s used in the UK where our mains voltage is 230V ac @ 50Hz and our home wall sockets
are rated at 13 amps, which is a lot of power that needs big thick pins.
Viewed from the plug pin end, the connections are Earth at the top, Live at the right and Neutral at the
left so when you plug it into the wall socket the Live is on the left and the Neutral is on the right.
You hinted you might send the person who gave you the answer something in return…
